Description

This transcription of the 1840 Washington County, Virginia Census contains most all of the vital information found in the census records except the age/sex of slaves. The original page number is given to retrace these records back to the original if you desire. The names of the head of the household are given, but those living in that house are given as age/sex only. On page two, the other information is found such as occupation, blind, deaf, etc., the names and ages of those pensioners from the American Revolution and the War of 1812 as well as the type of school for those teachers and the number of students in their schools.
