Barton County, located on the southwestern side of Missouri on the border with Kansas, was created in 1855 and named for Senator David Barton of Missouri. One claim to fame for this county is that Harry S. Truman was born in the county in 1884. Included in this set of records are: a brief history of the county, Marriages 1866-1880 and an abstract of Will Book A 1869-1888.
