Description

Amelia County was created in 1738 by the Virginia State Legislature from parts of Prince George and Brunswick counties. It was named for Princess Amelia, daughter of King George II. This volume of the Will Books includes additional deaths and heirs taken from the County Order Books 20, 21, and 22. These are abstractions of each of the will and entries found in the volume. If you find one of your ancestors in these pages, we suggest that you contact the Court Clerk to request copies of the original records as their might be details that are missed in the abstraction.
