Description
The 1840 census of any county gives a great deal more information than is usually transcribed. In this transcription, the name of the head of the house hold is given with the age/sex of each of those living within that house are shown also. We have included the age/sex of the freed colored, occupation of the household, personal notes about some individuals like blindness, deafness etc. There is a special column for those pensioners in the American Revolutionary War and also the War of 1812 with the name of the pensioner and their age.
